Description

With the aim to group its premises on one site, Cartier moved its new headquarters to La Cité du Retiro in 2003. The new headquarters represents the strong identity of the firm and provides optimum open-space office floors for the company’s various activities.

This up-scale office complex occupies a city block in Saint Honoré district, a haven of peace in the heart of Paris. The project is inspired in the city’s mystique with covered streets and interior patios.

The scheme encompasses the restoration of the existing Hausmann-era constructions and the creation of six-storey glass metal framed buildings. The new buildings are articulated around a main courtyard. The main street, Rue du Faubourg, provides three entry points into the interior patio, each with its own address – 30, Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré; 33-37, Rue Boissy d’Anglas, and 3, Rue de Surène.

The enameled glazed façades reflect the hues of the horizontally laid Pietra Serena sandstone paving.  The use of stone floors as a continuation of the external paving is repeated on the various levels, producing an elegant connection amongst the urban elements as well as those of the office building.

The program includes offices, shops, a showroom, a restaurant and a bar, a multi-purpose hall, a fitness center and car park space below grade for 450 vehicles.
